Health & Safety Training

The Bangor YMCA offers a number of on-site health and safety training classes.  We offer the latest courses in the nationally recognized American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/First Aid, as well as American Safety and Health Institute CPR/First Aid.  American Red Cross Lifeguard Training will give anyone age 15 and older the ability to learn valuable lifesaving skills.  These courses give participants the knowledge and expertise needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.

Our First Aid and CPR classes teach participants emergency preparedness and how to respond to an emergency.  These classes are geared toward the general public, law enforcement personnel, nurses, flight attendants, and firefighters. The skills taught give individuals the knowledge needed to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for sudden illness and injuries until the arrival of advanced medical personnel.  All of these traits we teach you fall closely with the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.  Please contact us at 941-2808 for more information or class availability.  All participants must register at the Welcome Center of the Bangor YMCA in person at 17 Second Street.

Important to note that ALL classes may be canceled due to low enrollment.  Minimum of 3 participants is required to run Lifeguard classes and Lifeguard challenges.
